In short
COD fulfillment in Uzbekistan means a local partner stores your products in Tashkent, calls every buyer to confirm the order, delivers it, collects the cash at the door and pays you the amount collected minus fees. With Control-V, products can also be sourced in China and shipped DDP (duties paid) to Tashkent, so a foreign seller needs no local company.
Key facts
- Uzbekistan has about 37.7 million residents (Statistics Committee, April 2025).
- 14 first-level regions: 12 regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan and Tashkent city.
- Currency: Uzbek som (UZS). Languages for calls: Uzbek and Russian.
- DDP from China: about 9-10 days by air, 24-26 days by land.
- Payouts of the cash collected: on a fixed schedule, up to twice a week.
You already sell with cash on delivery in Morocco, the Gulf or Europe, and you are looking for the next market. Uzbekistan keeps coming up: a large, young population, buyers who like to see the product before paying, and few foreign sellers so far.
This guide explains COD fulfillment in Uzbekistan step by step: how goods get there, who confirms the orders, how delivery and returns work, when you get paid, and what it costs to run. Each section links to a deeper article.
What is COD fulfillment?
COD (cash on delivery) fulfillment is a service where one partner handles everything between your ad and your money: it stores your stock, receives your orders, confirms each one with the buyer by phone, ships it, collects the payment at the door and transfers the cash to you with a statement.
The difference with a classic 3PL is the money and the phone. A 3PL ships parcels. A COD fulfillment partner also runs a call center and handles cash, because in a COD market an unconfirmed order is often a lost delivery fee.
How does the process work, from China to cash?
A full COD chain into Uzbekistan has five steps. You can use all of them or only some.
- 1Sourcing in China: you send a product link and a quantity; an agent finds the supplier, checks the goods and quotes a unit price, the weight and the shipping cost.
- 2DDP shipping to Tashkent: duties and customs are included, by air or by land. On arrival every piece is counted; missing or damaged pieces are credited to you.
- 3Storage: stock is labelled by SKU. You see it live: in the warehouse, ready to sell, reserved for confirmed orders, out for delivery.
- 4Confirmation by phone: each buyer is called in Uzbek or Russian, up to 3 times a day, to confirm the address, the product and the amount.
- 5Delivery and payout: the courier delivers to the door in the 14 regions and collects the cash; you are paid on a fixed schedule with an order-by-order statement.
Do you need a company in Uzbekistan?
No. You sell under your own brand, and the fulfillment partner handles import, storage, delivery and collection locally. You keep control of your ads, your prices and your products. See how to sell online in Uzbekistan without a local company.
Which numbers should you watch?
Three rates decide whether a COD product is profitable. Define them the same way every week:
| Rate | Formula | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| Confirmation rate | confirmed ÷ (confirmed + cancelled before confirmation) | Quality of your leads and of the calls |
| Delivery rate | delivered ÷ (delivered + returned) | How many shipped parcels turn into cash |
| Return rate | returned ÷ (delivered + returned) | Refusals at the door, wrong addresses |
The article on COD KPIs shows how to read them and what to change when one drops.
How much does it cost to sell COD in Uzbekistan?
Your cost per delivered order is the sum of the landed product cost (purchase + DDP), the fulfillment fees, the delivery fee and the cost of returns, plus your advertising. Because a returned parcel goes back to stock and can be sold again, a return costs you the delivery and return fees, not the product.
Use the formula and the worked example in how to calculate COD landed cost before you pick a selling price.
How do you start?
- Choose 1 to 3 products that are light, easy to explain and not on the prohibited goods list.
- Ship a small test batch, by air if you want results fast.
- Run ads in Uzbek and Russian, mainly on Instagram, Facebook and Telegram.
- Measure confirmation and delivery rates for two to three weeks, then scale or stop. Follow the test plan.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between COD fulfillment and dropshipping?
In dropshipping the supplier ships each order from abroad. In COD fulfillment your stock is already in Tashkent, so delivery takes days instead of weeks and the buyer pays in cash at the door.
Which regions of Uzbekistan can be delivered?
All 14 regions, through a local courier partner: usually within 24 hours in Tashkent and 24 to 48 hours in the regions.
What happens when a buyer refuses the parcel?
The parcel goes back to stock and can be sold again. Damaged items are kept apart and reported to you.
When do I receive my money?
On a fixed payout schedule, up to twice a week, with a statement listing each order, the fees and the net amount.
Can I start with a small quantity?
Yes. A small air shipment is the usual way to test a product before ordering more by land.
COD fulfillment turns Uzbekistan into a market you can run from abroad: your products arrive duties paid, every order is confirmed by phone, and the cash comes back on a fixed schedule. Start with a small test, watch three rates, and scale what works. Tell us about your products to get an offer adapted to your volumes.
